Day Six: Brugge, Brussels, & Venice

Our sixth day in Europe started in Brugge and ended in Venice. The morning was misty as we made our way to the bus stop to take us to the train station.

As we waited for the bus, we stopped in a pastry shop and got some yummy food. I couldn't believe how large the Easter bunnies were.

I had Andy stand next to them to put them in perspective.

We stopped off in Brussels and did a bit of sightseeing before going to the airport. We visited the Grand-Place of Brussels.

I didn't get a waffle, but they looked delicious!

I loved looking down every alleyway and see gorgeous buildings.
In the Brussels Airport, I got a Mexican salad. It was the most bizarre thing ever. It had potato salad on top of the salad. I'm pretty sure that isn't Mexican.

Throughout the trip, I was on the lookout for a book to read. Finally, I found the perfect book on our way to Italy. The first half of A Room with a View takes place in Italy. It was fantastic!

We took a water taxi from the airport in Venice to get to our Airbnb.

Walking through Venice, felt like we were going through a maze. The alleyways were tight and then would suddenly open up to small squares or canals.

We had a fantastic dinner our first night in Venice. The pasta was delicious as well as the lasagna. We weren't planning on staying for dessert, but the owner came out and drew a flower and wrote down all of the desserts. They sounded too good to pass up. I don't remember what mine was called, but it had lime in it and it was fantastic! It was also baby E's birthday that day and I totally lucked out on enjoying a great dessert.

We had a great walk after dinner.

We ended up in St. Mark's Square along with quite a few other people.

We found a fantastic view of Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute.

It was interesting seeing the radical difference between Brugge and Venice.
And that was day 6.
