Winter: Episode III - Revenge of the Snow

The majority of February has been mild weather, so naturally it started snowing again.

Here's a snowball from Utah just for you!

Also tickets are now available for the Paris France Temple open house.
I wish I could go!

Together

I feel like I should share what Jonathan and I have been up to, but I honestly can't remember what we've been doing.

We really just like spending time together.

Lip Smackers

A few weeks ago, I was walking to my work desk from the break room and smelled something fruity. It smelled familiar and then it hit me. It smelled like my old strawberry-kiwi Lip Smackers

I texted Amy R about it and she said they still make it and she almost got some for Charlotte. I don't think that any of the men that work in that part of the office use Lip Smackers, but it totally smells like it!

Tortilla Chips

Last year, Jonathan started making homemade tortillas. They are delicious. A few weeks ago, I really wanted some chips and salsa. Jonathan made his first attempt at chips. They are amazing!

Now all I need is hot salsa from Eva's and it will be perfection!

Twelve

In just twelve short weeks, Jonathan will be done with school. I'm still having a hard time wrapping my mind around it. It always felt like this was in the far distance, but it is quickly getting here. Whether we are ready or not!

Our schedules actually work so I can pick him up from his Monday night class.
Our goal is to have a job lined up by then.
Luckily, I can find job postings while I'm at work. It's a very exciting time right now. I can't wait to see where Jonathan will be starting his career..

Spring

It's been raining for the past two days. It's a nice reminder that winter really won't last forever. I know that the snow will make another comeback. (Actually this Saturday to be exact.) These rainy days remind me of the soggy winters of my childhood. The layer of high gray clouds that lasted for months mixed in with the occasional foggy day when you couldn't see across the playground. Now that I have lived through a couple of snowy winters, I really love spring. Everything is fresh and colorful. Soon enough, spring will be here.

I Just Know

This last Sunday Jonathan and I gave talks in church. Our topic was "How I know Jesus Christ loves me?" At first, I was concerned about it because during the previous week the speakers had the same topic. I wasn't sure that there was anything more I could share that would be meaningful. As I thought more about the topic, I remembered a funny story about my nephew Garrett.

On a math worksheet, Garrett was asked to write down what strategy he used and why it was right. Garrett simply wrote "I just know." I felt like that perfectly applied to my feelings about the topic I was given. I just know.

Instead of being satisfied with that as an answer, I though about why I know He loves me. It comes down to the fact that I have gone through and continue to go through difficult trials that were made more difficult as I tried to get through them on my own. It wasn't until I trusted Jesus Christ and the power of His atonement that I was able to make real progress. It isn't something that comes naturally for me, but He lightens my load whenever I do. He doesn't take away the trial because that would prevent me from growing. He is right along side me.
