I am grateful for health. This past week or so, I've had a cold. It's not really enjoyable feeling groggy and stuffed up at work, but it makes me so much more grateful for how healthy I have been.
There are times in life where goals, though important, are placed on the back burner because there are other more pressing things to take care of. In time, life changes so slowly that those goals just stay in the background. Well, I walked right into that trap. Thankfully, we got a wake up call earlier this month. While nothing is changing directly, those goals that were quietly simmering are now remembered and we now can give them the attention they deserve. I don't know how things will turn out, but I know we are heading on the right track.
Whenever I workout, I listen to General Conference talks. I listen to them a few times so I can focus on the message in each talk and how it applies to me. I am currently listening to the talks from the October 2010 General Conference. I can see that these men were aware of the way the world was going before it happened. Earlier this week I was listening to the talk given by Bishop Richard C. Edgley . It is powerful and I wanted to share part of it. "When the disciples asked Jesus why they could not cast a devil out as they had just witnessed the Savior do, Jesus answered, 'If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove' ( Matthew 17:20 ). I have never witnessed the removal of an actual mountain. But because of faith I have seen a mountain of doubt and despair removed and replaced with hope and optimism. This weekend we were able to meet Miss Lyla Nicole Patterson! She is just the sweetest little girl. It is so different having a little girl in the family. She's definitely helping calm things down, even just a little bit. We just love this little girl! Doesn't he look so cute holding a baby! A very proud older brother!
