Day Ten: Riomaggiore, Vernazza, & Florence

Our tenth day was one of the best days of the trip. We took the train up to Cinque Terre and we spent the day at two of the five cities along the coast. The first city we visited was Riomaggiore.

I love how colorful the buildings are.

We passed by a sweet little chapel.

I loved listening to this group of old Italian men.

We were hoping to walk along the trail to Manarola since it is the shortest part of the trail, but it was blocked off due to a rock slide. We were at least able to enjoy the view.

We instead took a train to Vernazza. Yet another beautiful town along the coast!

We had a delicious lunch of crab pasta, unfortunately there wasn't much meat left in the crab.

After lunch, we visited the Church of Santa Margherita D'Antiochia.

I would love to have that view while sitting at church.
We wandered further down the water front and enjoyed the beautiful weather and views.

Andy, Chris, Annie, and I climbed Castello Doria. We were able to see amazing views of the Ligurian Sea and Vernazza.

The staircase up the tower was really narrow.

The views were amazing!

I loved watching the local artists painting.

You can't tell, but it's a California flag.
On the train ride home, the man sitting next to Chris fell asleep.

We got back to Florence in time for dinner, so Chris, Mom, and I went back to Cafe Bellini for pizza. It was delicious!

One of the weird things about the Airbnb we were staying in was the second bathroom. It was so small that the toilet was in the shower. We had a lot of fun making jokes about it.

This was one of the best days of the entire trip! That was day ten.
