May Happenings

May went by in a blur, mostly because we were still recovering from Jonathan's graduation festivities.

Amy R. sent my birthday present with tons of confetti in the box.

Yes there is still confetti in our apartment to mix with the confetti I made for Jonathan's graduation party.

My dad accidentally left his Book of Mormon in the car he rented during his trip. This is the one he used on his mission and is overflowing with insight and notes. Thankfully, the car rental place had his precious book and we were able to pick it up for him. Jonathan took pictures of it, so I can fill my own Book of Mormon with his notes.

Those are not rain drops on my windshield.
It snowed.
In the middle of May.
I still am not okay with that.

Some local graffiti in our apartment complex. In Utah, we sensor our language and use chalk so it can easily be washed away. (Even though it is still there.)

The peonies were blooming and gorgeous! I took this picture on my mom's birthday and never sent it to her. She loves peonies, but can't grow them in hot California. So, here's you're really late birthday flower Mom!

The Perfect Time of Day

I finish at work at the perfect time. It's 5 pm like most people, which that explains the traffic on my way home, but that's not why it's perfect. At 5 o'clock, the sky is just completely gorgeous with color. The sunsets are the highlight of my drive home. I've been taking pictures of them for the past few weeks and want to share. (My car is stopped when I take these pictures.)

Nov. 13
I got so excited that the sky was pink that I sent to someone who absolutely loves pink, Mercedes.

With the knowledge that we are moving in about a week (YIKES!), I've been relishing my time driving around the town I grew up in. I love that I spent my entire life here and that we started our married life here. Next stop, Utah!

Music

Today I am grateful for the silly music that plays while your on hold. At my job, I call a number of different companies and some have the gooberiest music ever! I can't even describe the type of hold music I heard this morning, but I couldn't help but laugh.

Life Lately (according to my phone)

I feel like a total slacker, so instead of doing a bunch of posts all at once I'm just going to share a bunch of pictures.

Jonathan and I have done a lot together lately.
We toured the State Capitol the week before school started.
Jonathan said goodbye to the first computer he ever bought.
(FINALLY!!! Now we only have 3 computer towers instead of 4!)
We worked on our archery skills for FHE with the Nelsons.
We played tennis with Taylor and Kenzie. (We need to do that more often!!!)
Last week Jonathan took me on a picnic date.

The three 2 year olds are doing great!
Seth tried shooting the rubber band and luckily didn't hurt himself.
Garrett was reminiscing about the old days when he was just a baby.
Mercedes, as usual, took off with my shoes. (Look at how long and curly her hair is!!)

Clara, much like me, is so much happier after a nap!

While driving around I've seen classic cars and lots of traffic.

That brown-orange truck is almost identical to the truck my dad had back in 1979.
Down to the home made rack.

I'm still working on the chest and it just keeps getting better and better!
I just got the knobs last weekend and they are perfect!!

While shopping for the knobs, I found some inspiration for some new projects!!

Last, but not least. One of our neighbors got saran wrapped.
I honestly thought it was a huge spider web at first.

This is just some of the highlights of what we've been up to.
More post will be coming in the weeks ahead.

Sha-la-la-la-la-la You Gotta Kiss the Girl!

When I was growing up, the Little Mermaid was one of my favorite movies.
I always loved the scene when Ariel and Eric are in the row boat during the song "Kiss the Girl".

via
I got to have my own experience like that during our trip to Idaho. Annie's dad wanted the newly weds (I still love being called a newly wed!) to row around the pond. Since we were guests at the farm, we had to do it!

We were even serenaded with Mike singing "Kiss the Girl". Jonathan, unlike Eric, followed the message of that song and kissed me.

It was so much fun having our own version of that scene.

Hmmm... Weird...

So, apparently Snooki follows me on Instagram...
I'm not really sure why that would happen, but whatever.
(I'm not even entirely sure who that is and PLEASE don't tell me!)

Thanks to Hannah, I probably would have never noticed.
