My Children

I am so grateful for each of my children. They each bring so much joy to my life in their own unique way. I am so humbled to be their mother.


It's still surreal to have Aaron and Lucy here that most days I feel like I am just babysitting. I am grateful to be learning and growing right alongside them.


I am grateful for Lucy's sweet and patient personality. Each day she's getting more interactive and playful. She's already grateful to have Aaron around.


I am grateful for Aaron's joyful nature. He gets so excited over many things like rocks and trains. Aaron adores his sister and tries to help take care of her.


I am grateful for wonderful Baby E. I still can't find a particularly good way of describing E's personality beyond sweet, but that comes nowhere near it. I am so grateful to have E in our family.


I am grateful for my stalwart Baby J and for the discovery of this picture. This is the only picture of me while I was pregnant with J and I love it even more that Garrett is sitting right on top of my pregnant belly. (He loves his cousins J and E almost as much as I do.) J is such a wonderful example to me and I want to be like J.


I still miss J and E every day especially now that Aaron and Lucy are here. Seeing the two of them together makes me more grateful that J and E have each other. I am also grateful for the time we had together and the promise that we are sealed together for all eternity. Death is not the end for our family.

I know I've been pretty quiet here for the past month or so, but some crazy things happened this month and it took awhile to wrap my head around them. Jonathan was doing really well with his job at IBM and suddenly found out that they weren't able to approve the funding for his contract to continue past the 31st of January. We were stunned and unsure what was going to happen next. Jonathan quickly got his resume posted and called a few headhunters that had called him after he started working with IBM. He had a job interview the same week for an android developing job. It was kind of a weird job because they would train him and then find contracts for him for the next two years. We would be nomadic and so he kept looking while keeping this as our plan B if nothing else turned up. I snuck a photo of him during his interview. One More Minute

I love Lucy. She sits back and observes what is going on around her before joining in. Typically, she jumps in when it's nearly time to go. That happened again today. I told Aaron one more minute until we needed to leave. Lucy ran out to join in the playing. I couldn't stick with leaving in one minute so we let them play longer. Lucy and Aaron kept up with the big kids fairly well. Samuel's diaper leaked during Sacrament meeting and his backup outfit wasn't as cute as his original one. We'll try again another time. A Month of Gratitude

I don't know about you, but it feels like November came out of nowhere. As I was sitting in church this afternoon, I realized I hadn't started my annual daily gratitude posts. I am going to correct that right now. I enjoy taking the time to write out something I am grateful each day and seeing the wonderful blessings I have in my life. If you are like me and haven't started, you can join in any time! First, I am grateful for our wonderful friends. Last Sunday, we visited with some of our old friends for a night of pumpkin carving and games. I cannot remember the last time I carved a pumpkin, but it's safe to say that it has been many, many years. I decided to go all out and do a dia de los muertos skull. Most everyone finished their pumpkins quickly, but I kept hard at work finishing mine. A few hours later, it was done!
